The Rory's Story Cubes is set of illustrated cubes that will have you creating a whole lot of stories, written or verbal.
Play with the dice on their own, or use any of the 9 cubes at one time. Story cubes are a catchy and subtle way of initiating storytelling and story writing. They can lead to discussions, too.
We use them at Starfish in our tutoring centre. We add in a narrative outline to support writing. It will also help kids who have difficulties thinking of ideas for creative writing, structuring a story and/or just getting started. They make a great resource for teaching or therapy.
